Hydrogen Valley

Hydrogen valley is a state of the art green energy centre transforming the world’s energy system from fossil fuels into renewable energy sources.

    Hydrogen Valley was established in 2001 with special focus on hydrogen and biogas. Today, the cluster is an acknowledged green energy centre, including several international companies who work with green energy solutions. In collaboration with national and international partners, Hydrogen Valley conducts and assists in green business development activities.

    In June 2017, one of Europe’s most advanced electrolysers was built at the HyBalance plant in Hydrogen Valley. The 1.2 MW PEM electrolyser converts green wind power into storable hydrogen. The facility is an ambitious private public partnership, in which Hydrogen Valley is an important catalyst.

    Ambitious Danish climate visions

    Denmark is leading the transition to a green growth economy and aims to be the first country in the world to become independent of fossil fuels by 2050 –. According to the Danish Energy Agency, hydrogen and biogas are important contributors to the overall goal.

    Based on ambitious national vision for our climate, the Hydrogen Valley initiative was founded in 2001 in a partnership between the North Denmark Region, Mariagerfjord Municipality and Mariagerfjord Business Council. The cluster combines knowledge, innovation and networking.
